Rent Me by Brina Brady

Rent Me by Brina Brady

Rent Boy Brennen wants to belong to his lover Dmitri Dubrovsky. The Russian mobster controls every inch of his life in and out of bed.
Brennen works for Dmitri’s escort service. His only desire is to please his lover.

When Dmitri marries Nika, his lover moves him out of their home to an apartment in Beverly Hills and tells him nothing has changed. What is Brennen going to do now?

I loved Rent Me by Brina Brady, and I found myself unable to put the book down.

I find that the blurb does not do justice to the deep complexities that are involved in this story of an abused boy who was rescued by a Russian mobster and his brother.

Raised by Dmitri and his brother Mischa, Brennen has been spoiled rotten. He became Dmitri’s lover when he turned 18. So when Dmitri married a women so no one could find out he was gay it sent Brennen on a course of acting out with self destructive behaviors.

There are many twists and turns in this story, sometimes I wished Brennen would leave Dmitri, and other times I was glad they had each other.

There is a fine line between BDSM which is consensual on both parts, and hat I considered just flat out abuse. I found both Dmitri and Mischa crossed the line a few times.

Otherwise, I enjoyed this story and I would gladly read this author again. I know this review sounds conflicted, but that is what the story brought out in me, conflicting emotions.

5.0 Stars of 5.0 Brennan is an awesome character, love him. May 29, 2014

I really enjoyed this story. Brennan is so lovable. Not that I agreed with most of his choices but I understood them. I didn’t like Dimitri. I saw him as abusive and controlling but I did end up believing that he did love Brennan. At the end, I was glad Brennan got his man but would love a sequel to find out if it really turned out to be HEA. It’s my understanding this is Brina Brady’s first book. If so I’m impressed. Excellent work.

5.0 Stars of 5.0 Deliciously fun MM erotica May 28, 2014

Brennen is a smart kid who is knows what he wants but has a little trouble figuring out how to get it. He makes some mistakes that all young people make but then things just spin out of his control. This book about a young man’s journey in figuring out what is important and what is not. Brennen tends to be a spoiled brat sometimes but I could not help but to love him.

Dmitri is a Russian Mob boss who takes Brennen under his wing and they fall in love but between Brennen choosing to be a rent boy and Dmitri’s deeply instilled Russian traditions thing start to fall apart. Dmitri can be a controlling and conniving sob but he has his reasons and he also has a better side the side that just wants to take care and protect Brennen.

In this book Brennen is put through some pretty tough situations and the author does a good job with fleshing him out in the end you really get sense of his growth. He matures quite a through or even because of it all.

This book is a great book for those who like a bit of taboo with their mm erotic romance.

Wow! This book is super hot, but the story itself is so compelling I was up until 4 am reading. I spent half my time wanting to smack the guys upside the head, and the other half going awwww…
Their relationship is by no means conventional, but it somehow manages to work for them. Now if they could just learn to communicate! But oh, such sexy sweet, naughty, and downright horrid boys they are!
All I can say is… more please!

This book was a lot of back and forth. Brennan made some really stupid decisions that put him in a few places that were horrible for him. Brennen was abused a little too much but I just couldnt put the book down. It was great. I couldnt wait to see what was next. I hate he and jesse couldn’t reconcile but otherwise I liked this one. Its a new author and I will read her in the future.

Brennan was abandoned by his parents and abused for most of his life. Dimitri is a Russian mobster who takes Brennan under his protection when Brennan is 12 years old. Their relationship becomes a sexual relationship when Brennan turns 18. Brennan and Dimitri each have their own issues but throughout all of the mistakes they both make, the one constant is that they love each other. Brennan makes some bad choices but I sympathized with him when he and others paid the consequences of his actions. Through all of the drama, Dimitri kept his vow to keep him under his protection. The story kept my interest and despite some dysfunctional elements to their relationship, I enjoyed their story and hoped they would find a way to make their relationship work.

I enjoyed this story. Bren was very spoiled and bratty at many times, but I did understand somewhat given his past. There were a few too many things happening in this story. But I would read other stories by this author.

I loved this story. I hated Dmitri at times and loved him the next….kind of how Brennen felt too. 🙂 But I was totally rooting for them. I love the controlling man and an older man. Then add on the Russian dom…yum! This was a fun read. It will have you questioning them at times and the next going aw. The end was perfect and I hope to read more about them soon. HINT HINT…Ms. Brady! But also I would love to read more about the lawyer too 😉 Kind of liked him too(for the time he was in there.) But I would totally recommend this book. Loved every page 🙂

THIS book is well written and realistic in a way I have not seen from M/M romance writers in a good while. There is always something going on in this book. When you think you have everything figured out, the author hits us with a major plot twist. The MC’S are engaging and realistic. I found myself becoming extremely wary of Demetri to the point of mistrusting him. As for Brennan I couldn’t help but sympathize with all his insecurities and desperate desire to belong.
The heat level is hot, but not scorching. All sex scenes were beautifully crafted by the author. The story does contain soft BDSM. There is also a lot of reference to child abuse and molestation. Rape is also alluded to. Anyone who is triggered by those things or violence in a relationship should be wary of certain aspects of the story.
There are few grammatical errors. Most immediately noticeable errors are close to the end and does not take away from the story. I’m on the lookout for this author’s next book.

Brennen and Dmitri did not have your typical relationship but it worked. Dmitri frustrated me but in the end I loved him. The story was hot and Ms. Brady’s writing was excellent. Definitely would pick up another book by her.

I can’t believe this book is the authors first. I began reading and couldn’t stop. Brennan and Dmitri’s relationship is laid out in such a way that I couldn’t wait to see what happens next. There is no lag time. Dmitri, a product of Russian tradition and a member of the Russian Mafia and Brennan, a young man the product of an abusive life and now under the protection of Dmitri have developed a very personal relationship. This relationship struggles through much turmoil before the two can reach an HEA. I am a sucker for HEAs. This is a sexy, sexy book and I am looking forward to this authors next.

Ok I do not know what to say, really I’m speechless. Hmmm this one of the strangest triangle relationship I’ve read, there was sooo much abuse Brennen faced by everyone in his young life including from Demitri and Mischa (you have 2read), many unanswered questions. This is one of those books that begs to be read but stranger yet I loved reading the damm book, yes I want a part 2. If you are not into reading BDSM and a Great deal of sex then don’t bother because you’ll only bitch but do i recommend this book HELL YES

As a child of horrendous abuse, Brennen doesn’t know who to truly trust and who to love. He knows Dmitri loves him; but how much and in what aspect? Brennen will push and act bratty to test everyone around him. His love for Dmitri will lead him to self-destruct. Who will be strong enough to dominate Brennen and lead him to a place of inner peace? I know, but I highly suggest you read to find out too.Brina Brady’s cast of characters are so relatable and realistic. “Rent Me” had me reading like a fiend to the very end. It was titillating, sensuous and Oh So Naughty! *Lick* After I was done I was begging for more from these characters. Write Brina, write like the wind!!! I need more 🙂
I have mixed feelings about this book. I gave it 4 stars because it was well-written and kept me up all night to see how it ended. I felt bad for Brennen and wanted to see him grow and discover his self worth. That’s why I couldn’t put it down. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the warm and fuzzy that I wanted. Also, I never grew to like or understand Dmitri. I still think it was a good book and recommend it to anyone who doesn’t require a warm and fuzzy ending.

I’m giving it a 5 b/c this debut novel exceeded my expectations very nicely. When I downloaded this book from Amazon I did not know what to expect. With the name and cover I thought I would turn out to be one of those books in which sex is the plot. Though the book did contain many steamy sex scenes, it was not a porn book, there was actually a plot with character development.

Brennen is a young, naive boy in love with Dmitri who is a Russian mobster. Their relationship is very complex because Dmitri rescued Brennan when he was a young boy from being abused by his mother’s ex-boyfriend. Their relationship transitioned from paternal/protective to lovers but Dmitri was still very protective/paternal with Brennen. Because they did not start the ‘romantic’ part of their relationship until Brennen was a consenting adult, and b/c it was Brennen who came up to Dmitri, it did not feel uncomfortable.

Loved Dmitri jealous, possessive behavior. He reminded me of Conrad from The Substitute

They shared a D/s relationship with domestic discipline elements. Most of the angst comes from the fact that Dmitri married a girl to please his parents and b/c as a Russian, he did not see any other alternative.

They get themselves into plenty of messes but in the end, get their HEA.

The secondary characters were great. I loved Misha.

My only quibble with this book is that I did not believe what Dmitri wrote in that letter that he gave Brennen at the end (not spoiling it). No way THAT did not happen.

Warning: there is a bit of m/f in here.

I would love a sequel to this book. There is plenty of material to still be explored.
